My Philosophy:

JulianaI believe the way that we bring babies into the world speaks volumes about us as a society, and lays down a template for how little people ultimately come to view themselves and their worlds.

I love the magic and the transformative power that birth embodies.

Childbirth is one of the most physically and mentally challenging things that can ever be experienced, and is a tremendous opportunity for both personal and spiritual growth. I am dedicated to helping support women in this most important and life-changing transition to motherhood.

Women need and deserve to be presented with information, tools, and options to prepare themselves for birth with a sense of awareness. It is a great honor to guide women toward this heightened awareness in birth, to offer alternate views and choices in a safe setting, and to provide support for self-discovery.

My Experience:

I offer private childbirth education for growing families in King, Snohomish, and Skagit Counties. In addition to my training as a Certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner through the HypnoBirthing® Institute, I work as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Child Mental Health Specialist in private practice with an emphasis on perinatal and postpartum counseling for women and their families.

In my practice as a therapist I work with issues such as birth trauma, grief and loss, infertility, Perinatal and Postpartum Mood Disorders, preparing abuse survivors for birth, attachment and bonding, and parenting consultation and support. I also have extensive experience providing therapy for children and adolescents, with additional training in foster care and adoption therapy. My practice, Chrysalis Counseling Services, is located in downtown Everett.

I am the current Vice-Chair for Postpartum Support International of Washington, and Washington State Co-Coordinator for Postpartum Support International. I recently served on the Washington State leadership advisory committee for the Speak Up When You're Down Postpartum Depression Awareness Campaign.

I am also involved with ConceivABLE, a local consortium of fertility experts and health care providers dedicated to improving the reproductive potential of individuals through emotional, spiritual, and physical means.
